The Beer Festival People should come to Peterborough for the beer festival. It's the largest in the country outside of the really big Great British Beer Festival in London, and it's great. I will be in attendance every day (probably in varying states of sobriety...) and it ought to be fun. Having said that, if you don't like real ale and insist on drinking piss-coloured carbonated water, it might not be for you. But yeah, if you want to come, drop me a line and we'll arrange something - it would be cool to see people this holiday! Current Mood: excitedCurrent Music: R.E.M. - Country Feedback (Live) |

Mmmm, beer... I have missed the Great British Beer Festival, which means that my current advanced state of confusion is due to the Tun alone. |

Now how does a hammer work agan? As I still cant find a job in little old Driff it looks like I will be going to a field to hit things with hammers. I said I would never do it again unless it was for the Faction I was playing in but life forces my hand yet again. |

Today/Tonight Well drove to Work and Back, Not dead.
Work was okay, was mostly the normal first day stuff, so inductions and Health and Safety, Lots and lots of H&S Mostly about what happens if water hits Molten Aluminium (I don't have a job and the company doesn't have a building) in the fantastic very 80 "Containers that Kill" Info avi file
Tonight watched England Legends vs Germany Legends (basically teams of old English/Germany players) and we Lost, Badly, 5-1 but it was (a) Funny to Watch the Healthy Germans vs the English teams who had eaten too many of the the Sponsers freebies (Pukka Pies) and (b) its was played in such a good spirit there were no yellow cards, no Diving and people just enjoying the game. |

Warning: Warning: I am initiating a cull of my various friends lists on LJ and facebook. If you find you have been deleted/blocked and it bothers you then mail me and I might re-friend you.
Basicaly I want to keep my lists fairly fresh and managable, and obviously remove people who dont like me anymore (fools :P). Just to clarify, there are no people on my lists who I DO NOT like at present but I see no point in having people who dislike me on my lists.
-Be well.

Dear T-Mobile... Stop spamming my phone you bastards!
I am sick and tired of getting text messages every few days from T-Mobile. This has only started happening in the last few weeks, and it's pissing me off when my mobile goes and it's yet another bloody advert for features my old phone can't even do!
Maybe I should just keep my phone turned off - which rather negates the point of having one, really.
I was toying with the idea of getting a new mobile, but if I do, it won't be from T-Mobile. |

Coal What with these campaigners protesting the building of a new coal power station, and George Monbiot's bit in The Guardian the other day saying "Everything now hinges on stopping coal" maybe it's time to re-evaluate Margaret Thatcher as an environmental champion ahead of her time. P.S. I was going to post this the other day, but got distracted and forgot. It just came back to me... |

Just one of the reason I love working in my team... I go off to sort out a few users problems and questions. Come back 30 minutes later to find a cup of tea on my desk. Wasn't here for the round, but they made one for me just in case.
Sweet. |

BEEEEEEER Okay, now that I have your attention. I'm off to the GBBF tonight (and Saturday) - see people there after 6pm ish near the the Cider bar as it's a relatively central location (and near Fuds). ETA: Buggrit - they've changed the layout, but I'm still going to the Appley goodness stand - which is conviently next to the glasses stand on the way in! How can I be so knackered at 2 o'clock in the afternoon? I've had a reaaaalllllly lazy day so far, and feel kinda good but guilty too. I'm currently sitting in Liverpool's Central Library, which is stuffy and falling apart but has internet access and friendly staff. I got caught in the rain trying to find the Tate and ended up here, oops. About two hours ago I emerged from a hairdressers with my hair 8 inches shorter than it was before I went in. The hairdresser persuaded me not to have a fringe and now I wish I'd not listened to her, but I'll let her off because the shampooing session included head massage and back massage on one of those massage chairs thingies... truly awesome.
I now smell of lovely and have shiny, bouncy hair which feels terribly short!!
After the hair incident I went to a Tapas restaurant, had three dishes, a white wine spritzer and a coffee... ah, that's why I want to sleep now.
Off to collect nephew from Lime Street in an hour's time, and I hope very much that the torrential rain will stop so that my hair stays pretty for K to see this evening.
I wonder if they'll notice me sleeping or if they'll kick me out... J |

"The Buddha moved quietly... ...calmly, with a hidden smile, not unlike a healthy child. Just like all his monks he wore a robe and placed his feet precisely, according to precept. But his face and gait; his still, lowered gaze; his still, loose-hanging hand; and even every finger on his still, loose-hanging hand were expressions of peace, of perfection. Seeking nothing, emulating nothing, breathing gently, he moved in an atmosphere of imperishable calm, imperishable light, inviolable peace."
